Cazzulani, who had a speech at the international conference 'Where is Central Europe going?", held in Milan on July 24, also called Italy PM Renzi to give political support to the deployment of a permanent NATO contingent in Central Europe, so as Poland President Elect Andrzej Duda and Lithuania President Dalija Grybauskaite are urging since Russia renewed its warfare in Georgia and Ukraine.
"Both the geographical position of Italy and the assertive role of a pro-Russian lobby within the Italian politics make PM Renzi harder to understand that it is the warfare of Putin in the former USSR, and not only ISIL, the main threat to Europe. Therefore, PM Renzi should endorse tight relationships between the European Union and the United States on economic, political and energy issues, as well as the strengthening of the permanent presence of NATO in Central Europe, as UK PM David Cameron and Presidents Duda and Grybauskaite are long urging" Mr. Cazzulani said.
MP Ezio Casati, Regional Councillor Carlo Borghetti, Filitalia International Vice President Daniele Marconcini, PSD Italy Vicepresident George Lucian Bursuc and PD representative Oscar Figus also attended the event as panelists.
Where is Central Europe going?
The associated expert of the Centre for Global Studies "Strategy XXI" Matteo Cazzulani said Italy PM Matteo Renzi should make pressure on Greece PM Alexis Tsipras in order to ensure the realization of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline -TAP, a pipeline endorsed by the European Commission to pump Azerbaijani gas to Europe through Greece and Italy and decrease energy dependence on Russia in so doing- despite of Greek economic and financial instability and tight political relationship between PM Tsipras and Russia President Vladimir Putin.
