Currently the time for populist political decisions in gas pricing is over. Gas price increase should be gradual with simultaneous shift of subsidies from companies to the most socially vulnerable categories of citizens with low income. Market price will support competition among several gas producers and supports price reduction, although during a certain period.
Single market price might mean fourfold increase of costs for citizens with simultaneous targeted subsidies for the most infected citizens with low-income rate with monthly amount of 100-150 UAH. All gas producers will compete then for consumers without difference between industrial and private sectors.
Prices should increase gradual, for instance, on a monthly basis by 10% and during a certain period become equal to the market level.
