"With the advent of the era of sun and wind, the hydrocarbon era will not go away. Ukraine remains a transit country for supplying Russian gas to Europe and has a well-developed energy infrastructure. As a transit country, we can neither reduce nor increase the transit of gas.

After the beginning of Russian aggression, we were in a gas blockade. Three reverse directions of gas supply to Ukraine were created. We also have the Association Agreement. The parties must take into account each other capacities. Brussels must take into account what we can do in the energy sector", the expert said.

According to Gonchar, lithium is needed to store electricity: "There are not so many countries where it is mined. It's transition from hydrocarbon orientation to so saying lithium-cobalt epoch. It marks a certain revolution. Only a quarter of the century has passed, but what is the progress. There is a certain limit for development for renewablesources. Oil and gas will become more desirable as raw materials".

"We need to bet on the internal gas resource. We need to develop gas production that will cover our costs. Now, according to US forecasts, we can reach 23 billion cubic meters of gas production," Gonchar said.

The expert also noted that work is ongoing on how to use hydrocarbons, primarily natural gas. It produces the least of harmful mission. Modern technological developments concentrate not only on how to take solar energy, but how to re-use traditional energy sources in a new way. It is about taking hydrogen from methane.
