"Russia will not complete the Nord Stream 2 until then, even if everything is just perfect and timely done. Therefore, transit will continue. Another thing that there should be a long-term contract, but, obviously, it will be limited to one year or two," Gonchar said.
In his opinion, such statements from the Russian side are necessary for pressure on Europe.
"Thus, the Russian Federation wants to force Western partners to agree more quickly on all their proposals. But what ends on the paper does not mean that they will stop gas supplies, because this will be a problem not primarily for us, but for Europe. Russia will create the problem, first of all, for Europe, where they get money", - the expert said.
He emphasized that Nord Stream-2 is not just a pipe and that's all.
"There will be a lot of commissioning and start-up works, reaching the full capacity. It will take 1.5-2 years for this. The project may be commissioned closer to 2022-2023 year", - Mykhailo Gonchar summed up.
