The EU Global Strategy: Place, role and contribution of Ukraine

Changes in geopolitical and security situation in Europe, provoked by Russia, urged the EU to develop new comprehensive framework for its foreign and security policy and approve in June 2016 the EU Global Strategy “Shared Vision, Common Action: A Stronger Europe”. Annual assessments of achievements and development of further proposals should be made with active involvement of partner-states, namely Ukraine, into the process that would fill it with new practical content. Further cooperation between the EU and Ukraine in this context should be directed at strengthening the Ukrainian security sector and transforming Ukraine into the Eastern Partnership favorite and a successful example for the region.

To our readers, we would like to propose a Policy Paper, prepared on materials of the international expert round table, which was held in Kyiv on April 24, 2017.
