The second day began with the meeting - vice-mayor of Trnava Matej Lančarič presented the city to Ukrainian group. The city is one from the oldest in Slovakia.
Matúš Škvarka, Trnava Energy Manager presented energy complex of the Trnava City. He has shown comparison between energy structure of the city and its energy mix and those of the country; information about participation at international associations and foundations, which are engaged into energy efficiency and saving projects and programmes. He noted also about directions and measures, undertaken by city mayor to enhance energy efficiency.
After presentation, the group visited one of objects with PV-power station on the roof of one office building, which supports measures to decrease energy dependency of the country.
STEFE Trnava, s.r.o. representatives have demonstrated main parts of the station, explained the economics of the project, features about its implementation and functionality, given existing regulatory framework and business environment in Slovakia. Moreover, STEFE representatives also explained to Ukrainians, how Trnava is provided with heat though the existing heating system.
During the lunch, a press-conference was hold for Slovak mass media. During the press-conference, organizers and participants presented the project, its importance, directions and answered questions from Slovak journalists.
The second part of the day was devoted to the business of the DATATHERM, s.r.o. (Biopalivo, a.s., Thermonova a.s., Datatherm EU, s.r.o.). Those companies implement projects on producing heat and electricity from biomass. Stefan Smrekovsky, CEO presented the company to the group, as well as processes and procedures, which are necessary to receive biomass, produce heat, electricity on companies objects.
Together with Mr Smrekovsky and DATATHERM manager Radoslav Knazur, Ukrainians visited two objects, which are the components of the chain - "processing of raw materials - production". The group visited the company Biopalivo, a.s., which is responsible for the first stage - provision and preparation of raw material to burning.
Ukrainians also visited thermal power plant of the company Thermonova a.s. in Nova Dubnica, which works on biomass, providing a 12 000 town with heat and electricity. According to the agenda, we had to visit one more power plant in Trenchin, but due to very high interest of Ukrainian group to all aspects of the work at previous plant, there was lack of time to go to the last object.
