Participation at the XXVII Economic Firum in Krynica Zdrój, Poland

President of the Centre for Global Studies "Strategy XXI" Mykhailo Gonchar participated on 5-7 September 2017 at the XXVII international Economic Forum in Krynica Zdroj, Poland. Global EU Strategy, adopted in 2016, clearly indecates that "terrorism, hybrid threats, economic instability, climate change and unstable energy supply belong today to main threats for our citizens and the region". Energy dimension of security was very important and became one of key issues during the Forum.

This event has been marked with innovations. Besides traditional panel discussions, there was a new format of a strategic game, initiated by the organizers within energy panels of the Forum. The game topic was "European-Norwegian cooperation in energy security domain". Experts from seven European countries have analyzed different potential scenarios in energy sector on the continent for the period 2022-2025, including consequences of self-destruction of Russia with stoppage of export energy flows from its territory and impact on different regions and countries of Europe.

Such scenarios' modelling indicates that Europe starts to think more and more about the core content of Russia, its evolution and eventual consequenses of its self-destruction.
