Oil and gas prospectives of Ivano-Frankivsk region (NGO

On 21-24 April 2015, in the premices of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (IFNTUOG) the IV International Scientific Conference "Oil and Gas Energy 2015" was held. Co-organizer and active participant in the event was NGO "BRIT" - a regional partner within the Project "Independent monitoring of resource and financial flows from production of conventional and unconventional hydrocarbons in Ukraine under production sharing agreements. Experts from "BRIT", involved in the Project, presented the achievements within the framework of a regional study on the functioning of the oil and gas industry and their peculiarities in the region, on problems and solutions, cooperation with foreign partners and investors, increased use of advanced technologies for electricity and heat generation, including cogeneration units and renewable sources.

Invited to participate in the conference, Project coordinator Andrii Chubyk made a presentation on the subject "Ukraine's gas sector: how to optimize operation in wartime". Also colleagues discussed further cooperation within the Project, the completion of the regional study, ways to bring information to authorities and local communities, promising areas for further research. In particular, there were noted possibilities to use the NGO "BRIT" as a platform to explore the potential of regional gas and oil production in the context of the recovery operations on old and liquidated wells, where there is inflow of resources and the mobilization of technical and human resources to address energy saving issues and increase energy efficiency at the level of settlements, public services houses and private households.
