(Cyber) Energy conference - behind attacks stand modern system and big money

On March 18, 2016, the associated expert of the Centre for Global Studies "Strategy XXI", Nataliia Slobodian took part at [Cyber] Energy Security Conference organized by Casimir Pulaski Foundation. In the framework of Conference it was discussed the most important issues of energy security the Visegrad states and Ukraine. Participants of the Conference discussed the most significant aspects of the cybersecurity and protection critical energy infrastructureб – Critical Infrastructure in European Union/Network and Information Security Directive and as well as Protection of the critical infrastructure in Poland. The geopolitical problems and their influence on the European energy security were in the focus of experts’ attention. The meeting of experts was held in the format of a discussion club. As a result it was possible to launch a constructive discussion regarding the risks and opportunities of development the energy sector Visegrad countries and Ukraine. Experts have repeatedly stressed that today Ukraine has gained invaluable experience in protecting its critical infrastructure and combat with cyber attacks on energy facilities.
