The report analyzes Ukraine's main achievements since the EuroMaidan and examines areas where the country still needs to make significant efforts to successfully implement reforms.
In Odessa, the report was presented by:
James Sherr - Associate Fellow, Russia and Eurasia Programme, the Royal Institute of International Affairs Chatham House, UK;
Janet Gunn - an independent expert, has worked as a researcher at the Foreign Ministry of Great Britain for many years and participated in OSCE election observation missions, in particular, in Ukraine in 2004 and 2014;
Vitalii Martyniuk, head of the working group "Democracy, Human Rights, Good Governance and Stability" at theEastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, the Ukrainian National Platform for the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, Expert for the Centre for Global Studies "Strategy XXI".
Janet Gunn noted that an important role in the positive transformations of Ukraine was played by civil society, which proposes the agenda and was involved in the implementation of important reforms.
James Sherr emphasized that the internal transformation in Ukraine was a prerequisite for ensuring national security and responding to such external challenges as information warfare, invasion, subversion and destabilization.
"It is important that civil society in the regions now has additional opportunities for inclusion in the process of reforms and promote European integration through the activities of the Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform and the Ukrainian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum," Vitalii Martyniuk said.
* The project is aimed at strengthening public participation in the implementation of European integration reforms in Ukraine through the development of the potential and effectiveness of two profile public network associations - the Ukrainian side of the Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform and the Ukrainian National Platform for the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.
