Recall the recent statements by the Austrian Foreign Minister that the sanctions against Russia do not work and the German Foreign Minister's statement on the need for phased withdrawal of sanctions from Russia. It is obvious that the Kremlin and the Pro -Kremlin lobby in Europe have agreed on a certain game that should be completed at least as a softening of the sanction regime.
It is indicative that the representatives of the two countries - Germany and Austria, which are actively pushing the anti-European Nord Stream 2 project, are the most active in this regard. Moreover, not for the first time.
This is a certain trick and synchronization with statements from the Kremlin. Europe needs a gesture of goodwill, a signal from the Kremlin. In Moscow, they decided to make a gesture of goodwill in their inherent manner - to return military technic and armament to Ukraine, more precisely, what was left of that. Isn't it a gesture of goodwill in understanding of the Kremlin's kleptocracy? And the answer from Europe should be an incentive for Russia through softening sanctions.
But a real gesture of goodwill can be the complete and unconditional release of all political prisoners of the Kremlin in the Crimea and in Russia, captives in the Donbas. The Kremlin is increasingly facing international pressure because of this.
I hope that our kleptocracy will not be tempted by the "gift" of the Kremlin's "Danaans" and will explain to the European "peace lovers" and the putinversteher what stays behind that.
