"I think that the significance of this event is greatly exaggerated. This is a working moment of approval of the financial plan of the state company and its consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers, no more than that. Therefore, it is untimely to conclude that Naftogaz wanted to raise tariffs, but was not allowed. Any company is interested in increasing its revenue, profitability of its business, and, undoubtedly, it proposes certain visions and options within the framework of those regulatory documents that were approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. Since the Cabinet of Ministers has an influence on the state-owned company, it has decided that such arguments of Naftogaz are untimely.
This autonomy of Naftogaz, which lie in working out its financial plan independently, shows that gas sector reform has taken place. Naftogaz is no longer a problem for the state budget of Ukraine, moreover, Naftogaz has become profitable, it generates a positive financial flow, and seeks even more. That is, we can not say that there are malicious intentions behind this. But the Cabinet of Ministers just exists to regulate appetites, especially when it comes to structures that have a decisive influence on country's economy and social status of citizens.
Therefore, regardless of whether the Cabinet of Ministers is thinking of any prospects for possible early elections, today's decision is adequate. As well as the offer of Naftogaz, which fits into those approaches, which are outlined by the relevant regulatory documents of the Cabinet", - Mykhailo Gonchar says.
