Somehow in conversation with the former US Ambassador to Ukraine I noticed the insufficiently convincing position of the United States representatives at the Vienna court, which had allowed Firtash and his OPG (organized political group) temporarily to triumph, and had served as the basis for the assumption that the US washed hands of that case. But the Ambassador argued that the United States would bring this case to its logical end; the position of the U.S. Department of Justice would remain unchanged under any circumstances. Now it has been confirmed....
Why is Firtash interesting to the United States? First of all, he is a repository of not just information, but also of practical methods of the Kremlin, of the Russian security services, in cooperation with international organized crime not only in Ukraine and against Ukraine but also against Europe from inside Europe. In section 3.1.7. "RUE forever?" on pages 75-79 the universal mechanism of Russia's actions were described on the example of "RosUkrEnergo". We stressed then: "The EU and its member states should analyze carefully the history of relations between Ukraine and RUE. Actually, the RUE scheme is being cloned in the European projects of Russian gas monopoly. Offices of companies developing Russian gas flows projects operate in the Swiss canton of Zug, and, unlike RUE where Gazprom was formally a 50-50 shareholder on a par, in the cases of Nord Stream, South Stream, and Shtokman Development it has 51%, i.e. the controlling share of stocks. Swiss offices started to distribute financial flows as soon as the work on projects had been launched. The acceptance of those economically dubious projects by some Western European countries sends alerting signals as well as raises question whether the level of corruption in Berlin, Rome and Paris has not exceeded the critical level.
As Soros said almost three years ago, Europe was asleep. But the US is not sleeping. So, one way Firtash's journey to the USA with the perspective to be detained for 500 years (it may be shortened to 150 years for cooperation with the investigation) becomes very real. But unlike Lazarenko, he cannot expect such an optimistic ending. He is not needed alive there either for Pu from Russia or for various schröders from Europe or for some actors from the current circles close to trump's Administration. About his "non-necessity" for our personalities, starting from Kuchma-Pinchuk-Medvedchuk, and ending with the current "chocolate rabbits", it is even not worth to mention. They will be happy, if something similar happens with Firtash as recently happened with Churkin.
It seems to me that Firtash's bells will soon ring for Ahmetov and Pinchuk...
