Experts of the Centre for Global Studies will participate in the project in the framework of the European programme “HORIZON 2020”

The Centre for Global Studies “Strategy XXI” has become one of the few analytical centers of Ukraine, which will participate in research funded under one of the largest in the history of the European Union programmes - the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation “HORIZON 2020”.

Experts of the Centre together with European partners will implement the project "Enabling the Energy Union through understanding the drivers of individual and collective energy choices in Europe" (ENABLE.EU).

The project ENABLE.EU has received funding from the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation - Horizon 2020 under Grant Agreement no. 727524.

Project objective is to define the key determinants of individual and collective energy choices in three key consumption areas - transportation, heating & cooling, and electricity – and in the shift to prosumption (users-led initiatives of decentralised energy production and trade). Project results will be disseminated to relevant national and EU-level actors as well as to the general public.

For realisation of the Project it was created the Consortium of research, non-government, and educational institutions and organizations from 11 countries: Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Hungary, Ukraine, France. The overall coordination of the Project is put on the Italian Institute of Studies for the Integration of Systems — ISINNOVA.

The total budget of the Project, which will be implemented over the next three years, is more than 3 million euros. Funding will be distributed in accordance with the scope of work being done by each organization.

The implementation of the project will be highlighted on our website under “Projects” section.

The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation “HORIZON 2020” was adopted in 2013. "HORIZON 2020" is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a "Europe 2020" flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness. It is designed for 2014-2020, has a budget of 80 billion euros and is intended to combine all funding for research and innovation in the EU and to ensure the development of new ideas, growth and jobs for the future. The programme “HORIZON 2020” has replaced the 7th EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7), which operated from 2007 to 2013.
