Among other challenges to the security of the Black Sea region are the construction of the TurkStream, the intensification of Russian propaganda activities in the Black Sea countries, the unstable political situation in Moldova and Georgia, possible provocations of Russia in the context of the change of power and parliamentary elections in Ukraine, the continuation of the process of establishing A2/AD zone in the Black Sea, militarization of Crimea.

In a positive context, NATO's efforts to enhance the balance of power in the region by increasing the number of naval exercises and adopting a series of measures for Ukraine and Georgia aimed at enhancing security in the Black Sea, were noted. 

Mykhailo Gonchar, President of the Centre for Global Studies Strategy XXI presented a new issue of the Black Sea Security Journal and the results of monitoring the security situation in the Black Sea-Azov region, carried out within the framework of the project "Promoting Security in the Black Sea Region through Greater Engagement of Non-Governmental Players" with the support of The Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation, a project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

Member of Ukrainian Parliament, Mrs Hanna Hopko, Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made an assessment of the security risks of the situation in the Black Sea region.
