ENABLE.EU, a Horizon 2020-funded project aimed at a better understanding of the drivers of individual and collective energy choices in Europe, has just released its first newsletter. The issue examines how the project is changing the way we look at energy transitions, and how we can ensure a more successful and participatory shift to low carbon energy. A sneak peek is given of the household survey and case studies now being conducted. The newsletter also covers the project’s extensive bibliography and literature review, which offers an analysis of the state of the art of research on the drivers of energy choices. Readers can gain new insight into how good governance and open institutions can greatly increase public acceptance of energy transition technologies and policies. Finally, information is provided regarding project-related events, the project’s website and our social media initiatives.
