10:00 a.m. January 1, 2020. What's next?

How will the Ukrainian gas transportation infrastructure be used after the completion of the current Putin-Tymoshenko contract? What routes will European companies transport gas imported from Russia through? Is it possible to resume the transit of gas through Russia and Ukraine from Central Asia, which is blocked by the Russian side? Who will be the customer, the executor and what are the conditions for the provision of gas transportation services from the eastern border of the Ukraine-EU common market to the EU member states? Do we need additional gas transportation capacities from Russia when there are unused capacities of Ukraine's GTS? These new questions become even more relevant with the approaching date specified in the title of the article. This prompts Brussels and Kiev to make choices of options for importing gas to Ukraine and its transit to the EU using the Ukrainian GTS, which would be in line with the spirit and letter of the Association Agreement, the first report on its implementation to be soon adopted by the parties.
