Bulletin on security issues ‘Challenges and Risks’ No. 24 (87)

The Center for Army, Conversion, and Disarmament Studies (CACDS) offers you a new, 24th issue of the Bulletin "Challenges and Risks", which assesses security risks from December 15 to December 28, 2017.

The security review of the CACDS No.24 is devoted primarily to the results of 2017 in the field of the formation of the national security and defense system. The conclusions also provide expert opinions on transformation of diverse threats from Russia. Experts of the Expert Council under the CACDS also analyzed the new challenges, in particular - threats, related to deterioration of US-Russian relations, Russian "peacekeeping" initiatives, and the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Joint Center on Control and Coordination of issues related to the ceasefire regime and the stabilization of the situation on the contact line (JCCC).

In addition, experts provided review of Israel's experience in organizing missile rearmament, as well as an analysis of the EU's ability to increase its defense capabilities.

A separate expert study is devoted to assessments and analysis of Russia's total militarization of the captured Crimea.
