Given the reconciliation with the international community over their Nuclear Program, Iran, the world’s second biggest holder of natural gas reserves and currently at 79 million inhabitants, is returning to the global marketplace. As President Hassan Rouhani tweeted right after the sanctions were lifted on January 17th, “the legs of Iran’s economy are free of the chains of sanctions and it is time to build and grow”. This demonstrates the current government’s and President Rouhani’s firm intention to open up the country’s vast energy reserves to the world energy majors bringing in international investment and advanced technology.
